Context
The project was an opportunity to build a production website for Bonjour Edgar using a modern frontend stack.
The website needed to handle significant traffic while remaining fast, well structured for SEO and easy for the client to manage.
Challenges
Payment management
The project required a dedicated area in the back office to manage payment-related information for subscriptions.
Design implementation
The design relied heavily on rounded shapes and visual details, including the shape of the logo. The frontend implementation required close attention to the original design.
Technical Decisions
Astro + WordPress
Astro and WordPress were the obvious choice for this project.
The architecture provided a fast frontend while keeping WordPress as the editorial back office.
The approach also allowed me to continue improving the workflow I had started developing on previous projects.

WordPress & content architecture
I started by setting up the WordPress back office and defining the required content fields with ACF.

Astro frontend
I connected the Astro frontend to WordPress through APIs and built the page foundations before developing the dynamic frontend components.
Results
The website is running in production and the project allowed me to further refine the Astro + WordPress workflow I had already started developing.
Each project builds on the previous one, making the workflow more fluid, reliable and reusable over time.
